Year one was about laying the foundation: a full gap analysis against EcoVadis's scoring criteria, proper EcoVadis evidence collection, drafting the ESG strategy, policies and KPIs across environment, ethics, labour and human rights, and sustainable procurement, then building and submitting the package. That earned a Silver rating, proof the baseline was solid enough to build on.

Year two meant going back through the strategy against EcoVadis's evolving standards, since the scoring bar had shifted since year one. Getting an EcoVadis score improvement here meant formalising policies around supplier ethics, diversity, and environmental metrics, and strengthening the evidence to show genuine, continued progress rather than just resubmitting last year's package with a new date on it. That earned Cuttsy+Cuttsy a Gold medal in 2024, putting them in the top 5% of rated organisations globally.

By 2025, EcoVadis had raised the bar again, and Cuttsy+Cuttsy still held onto Gold despite the tougher requirements. That came down largely to a year spent on supplier engagement, an area that's carrying more and more weight in EcoVadis's sustainable procurement theme. That groundwork meant the 2025 resubmission reflected real, ongoing supplier work rather than a last-minute push, and it's what let the company increase their score while holding onto Gold even against higher standards.
